# Brazil Digital Nomad Visa Checklist (2026)

Use this with official sources before you pay filing fees.

## 1. Route fit

- I work remotely using information and communication technology.
- My employer, clients, or business income are outside Brazil.
- I do not have employment relationship in Brazil.
- My planned stay is long enough that visitor rules may not be enough.

## 2. Core threshold proof

- I can show at least `US$1,500/month` in foreign-source income; or
- I can show at least `US$18,000` in bank funds.
- My proof is easy to read and ties payer, amount, timing, and bank account together.

## 3. Remote-work proof pack

- Signed employment contract; or
- Service agreement / freelance contracts; or
- Company ownership documents plus revenue proof.
- Applicant declaration confirming remote-work capacity.

## 4. Identity and background documents

- Valid passport or equivalent travel document.
- Criminal background certificate(s).
- If applying inside Brazil: proof of filiation if not already shown in travel document.

## 5. Pick filing path

- Applying abroad through Brazilian consulate; or
- Applying inside Brazil through MigranteWeb.

## 6. Consular route add-ons

- Health insurance valid in Brazil.
- Consular fee payment proof.
- Visa application form.

## 7. In-country route add-ons

- Residence authorization form.
- GRU fee payment proof.
- Criminal-record documents covering prior five years.
- Declaration of no criminal record in prior five years.

## 8. After approval

- If entering with temporary visa: register with Federal Police within `90 days` after entry.
- If approved inside Brazil: register within `30 days` after publication of approval.
- Plan CPF request early.
- Watch tax-residency count if staying long term.
